Inspiration behind Issah

Issah

Issah is simply a character in this story. But like many of the other characters, he's inspired from people and experiences I've encountered on my own journey.

So here, I'd like to take a moment to introduce you to the man who inspired the Prince in Illuminated. He also goes by many names, Prince of Peace, Emmanuel, Jesus, Savior and many more. I however, know him simply as Friend.

This Friend is the God of the universe who walked in our shoes, who came to earth to experience our journey, and he broke down the walls that, up until then, kept man and God separated. And now he holds out his hand to each of us and asks that we walk with him. (Matthew 11:28-30 & John 14:23)

He calls all of us. He doesn't distinguish. He doesn't pick and choose. He doesn't love based on what we do, or don't do. He calls any who are under a burden to come and follow because his yoke is easy. (Matthew 11:30)

He is my guide, my friend, my savior and the love of my life.

You can find out more about him his life and teaching in the Bible. Start with the book of John, the disciple he loved. He loved them all, as he loves us all. As he loves you, whoever you are, wherever you are.

We are not meant to journey alone. Walking with Jesus is how I've learned to travel and I've not been disappointed. However, I know we each must find our own way. Still, I encourage you, if you've not taken the time to learn more about Jesus, do so. What do you have to lose?
